Huawei Devices Blacklisted From Downloading the VLC for Android App

Huawei devices can no longer download the pop VLC for Android media player app from the Play Shop, all thanks to Huawei's EMUI ROM which kills the app while running in the background.

After multiple reports from annoyed Huawei users about the aggressive RAM management and subsequent killing of apps, including VLC the programmer has finally taken a harsh activeness. While Huawei calls it a battery saving measure, the management is known to be excessively aggressive.

VideoLAN, the company which created the VLC suite of multimedia software, recently tweeted: "PSA: @HuaweiMobile phones are at present blacklisted and cannot become VLC on the Play Store. Their ridiculous policy of killing all groundwork apps (except their own) breaks VLC sound background playback (of course)."

The tweet also contained links to the VLC forum where frustrated users had discussed the trouble of Huawei'south software aggressively shutting down background apps, and that likewise, subsequently selectively sparing the visitor'southward own pre-loaded apps.
