EA Says It Has Thought About Including Cross-Platform Play for FIFA 19

Ever since E3 2018 and Fortnite's launch on the Nintendo Switch, the new hot topic in the gaming world has been cross-play.

While Fortnite's cross-play declaration was marred by the Sony and PlayStation iv snub, information technology did highlight the growing popularity of cantankerous-play options for major games. Other huge titles such as FIFA take also been targeted by fans who need compatibility between consoles in progress and other perks.

If you're a FIFA role player, you'd know well enough that FIFA features no cross-play of any grade.Unlike Rocket League and Minecraft, which lets PC players match with other players across PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, FIFA does not even allow players on different platforms play together. Additionally, Ultimate Team, which is one of FIFA's highlight feature, is too non supported on a single account across dissimilar consoles.

Now, with the cross-play issues being brought up as a customs, Electronic Arts, the studio behind the FIFA franchise, discussed the possibility of cantankerous-play on the world's most popular football game video game. In a contempo conversation with Eurogamer, FIFA creative director Matt Prior said that this is something EA Sports has looked into.

"It's something we've looked at, and it's something we ofttimes talk almost," he said. However, he further went on to arraign console's first-party policies for the lack of the feature. "There are a lot of issues to piece of work through. I'm trying to exist diplomatic here! In that location are a lot of issues to work through with various get-go parties. As someone who knows how each console company operates, Prior is not incorrect in blaming the starting time-party policies for it. For instance, Sony and Microsoft earn money from game sales commissions and taking a cut from the micro-transactions within games.

Notwithstanding that's cross-progress, which almost fans know is too much to enquire for, as it would impact company bottom-lines. Allowing cantankerous-play while still restricting cross-progress is something companies could certainly look information technology.
