So is anything new? Yes. Samsung says the new displays are 15 pct brighter than last year's models, qualification them easier to see in direct sunlight. I tried the touchpad features, and it's gentle sufficient to control pointer location, but resizing windows was more than challenging.

With the S9 and S9+, Samsung is also introducing some improvements to its Bixby digital assistant.
